Developed on the premises of the now defunct Spirit nightclub, the Academy on Middle Abbey Street is both a live venue and a dance club. The Academy comes to life on Saturday nights with popular DJs playing a variety of sounds. There is a huge variety of acts ranging from live bands, DJs and even a Circus! The Academy is one of the most popular venues in Dublin.
The Main Room has a standing capacity of 650 with capacity for additional 200 on the upper balcony and features quality pop, hip hop, beats and curveballs.
The Green Room is on the ground floor and can accommodate 550 people. It is used for live performances and DJs playing house and disco.
The Academy 2 is in the basement and is for smaller bands, comedy and Rock, Indie & Metal.
The Chamber is a VIP room which can be hired for private parties, functions etc.
The Academy Nightclub is one of Dublin’s biggest clubs with huge space for performers and dancers. There is always a range of artists and bands lined up for upcoming events, with some big names on the bill.
