What do you do if you don’t feel like spending Christmas Day preparing the turkey, cooking and washing up? This year, for a change, you would like to take it easy and have it served up to you.
If you are looking for a place to have Christmas Day Dinner Dublin has some options despite the fact that all pubs and most restaurants are closed for the day. Sale of alcohol is prohibited except when served with a meal in a restaurant or hotel.
Most of the opportunities are in hotels where you can get a really luxury meal served in comfortable seasonal surroundings where you can relax, take your time and enjoy a drink or two to go with the meal. The downside of this is that these meals can be quite expensive, largely because staff have to be paid premium rates for working on Christmas Day (which is only fair!). So you have to to be prepared to splash out a little.

Other Options for Christmas Day Dinner Dublin 2016
If you do not fancy the traditional turkey Christmas dinner or if you have had enough of it already at office parties etc., here are a couple of alternative options at restaurants which are open on Christmas Day in Dublin:
M&L Chinese Restaurant, Cathedral Street
This is considered by many to be the most authentic Chinese Restaurant in Dublin and they have confirmed to us that they are open on Christmas Day.
So if you want to have some real Chinese food instead of the usual Christmas fare, hop down to Cathedral Street in the city centre. They say that it is just like you are stepping into a restaurant in Chengdu, Szechuan Province in China.
Jimmy Chung’s Eden Quay, Dublin 1
Another Chinese Restaurant. This one is where you can eat as much as you like at a fixed price and it is very reasonably priced too. Just around the corner from O’Connell Street. Children under 3 eat free and you can stay for up to two hours.
So that’s about it! No need to go hungry this Christmas if you don’t feel like cooking.
