Two Pints

Roddy Doyle’s breathtakingly funny play which started as a conversation on Facebook is on at The Abbey over the Summer months.
Two men meet for a pint. They talk about their fathers, death, North Korea, the afterlife and more and like a lot of pub conversations the problems of the world are solved.
Olaf the Viking Coin Minter at Dublinia
Venue: Dublinia,
Date: Saturday 1st June – Saturday 31st August 2019
Olaf demonstrates the art of coin minting and shares his knowledge of Viking arts and crafts.
Olaf will be at his workshop every Saturday throughout June, July and August.
Riverdance
Venue: Gaiety Theatre

Burt Bacharach – Live at the Iveagh Gardens

Waiting For Godot

Vodafone Comedy Festival
Venue: Iveagh Gardens
Date: Thursday 25th July – Sunday 28th July 2019
Vodafone Comedy Festival 2019 has lined up some great international and Irish comedians for this four day event in Iveagh Gardens in central Dublin.
Visitors can enjoy the laughs in five in-door venues, as well as thestreet performers, live music, bars and food stalls.

IFI Family Festival
Venue: Irish Film Institute (IFI)

The Irish Film Institute Family Festival is a feast of family oriented films including Anime and animations, feature length and shorts from all around the world.
Many of the films share a common theme of characters trying to find their own way against family traditions. Biodiversity and conservation play a part too, in the rainforest-set minibeast opening film and Sunday’s closing film.

Bray Air Display

Bray Air Display is one of the most spectacular shows in the country, attracting thousands of visitors every year. Here you can see some of the best flying teams and vintage aircraft in the world displaying their incredible aerobatic skills.

Opera in the Open
Venue: Wood Quay Amphitheatre
Date: Thursday 1st August – Thursday 22nd August 2019
Live performances of operatic work in the open air in Dublin City Centre. These performances take place on the first 4 Thursdays of the month of August at the Dublin City Council Civic Office Amphitheatre, Wood Quay.
These free performances are shortened versions of the Operas with English narration and last one hour at lunchtime.
This year’s programme is: August 1st – The Impresario (Mozart), August 8th – The Rakes Progress (Stravinsky),August 15th – Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), August 22nd – Faust (Gounod)

Dublin Horse Show 2019
Venue: RDS Ballsbridge
Date: Wednesday 7th August – Sunday 11th August 2019
This is one of Ireland’s biggest sporting occasions and one of the world’s leading show jumping meetings.
The Nations Cup of Ireland (formerly known as The Aga Khan Trophy) has been one of the world’s most coveted horse jumping International Team trophies for decades.
There are lots of other competitions for all classes and ages involving about 1,500 horses and ponies.

Guinness Summer Series 2019 – Ireland v Italy

Ireland v Italy at Aviva Stadium in the Guinness Summer Series is a warm up for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Ireland would be expected to win this tie but Italy will be no pushover as they have been improving under the guidance of Conor O’Shea.

Wild Air Run – Marlay Park

Wild Air Run is a family fun run with lots of big inflatable obstacles on the 5K course. The course is made up of 10 huge obstacles which you can fight your way through.

A Murder is Announced – A Miss Marple Mystery by the queen of murder mystery, Agatha Christie comes to the Olympia.
This classic mystery will keep audiences enthralled as Miss Marple solves the complex relationships of the participants and uncovers the killer.
This production features a cast of well known TV stars including Sarah Thomas (Last Of The Summer Wine), Kazia Pelka (Heartbeat), Tom Butcher (The Bill), Lucy Evans (Coronation Street) and Tom Gibbons (The Archers).
